ESCONDIDO, CA — All the best pets will do tricks for treats. Escondido PetSmart is hosting a "Treat Your Boo" Halloween event for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, fish and every critter in between from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Dogs will be able to learn tricks for treats and pet parents can fill a treat bag for their pet at PetSmart's Trick-or-Treat stations. The party will feature a costume contest with awards for first, second and third place, plus certificates of participation — because all pets are good pets.

There will be photo ops with Chance the Mascot, and pet parents can share with their friends and family by hashtagging #petsmartparties. Free yard signs will also be available at the event to let neighbors know that dogs are invited to your home to trick-or-treat on Halloween night.

Pet parents can choose costumes for their small pets and pooches, as well as pumpkin chew toys and skull cave fish tank ornaments so all types of pets can join the fun. PetSmart's new Halloween collection includes everything your pet needs for Halloween, including costumes, toys and decorations.

Now pets have as many costumes to choose from as humans do at a Halloween store: cats and dogs can transform into dinosaurs, sharks and spiders, and there are also spooky collars and harnesses perfect for bringing your pet trick-or-treating. Even guinea pigs can join in on the fun with cute costumes, and fish can partake with Halloween-themed tank ornaments.
