Fall Exhibition Opening At CA Center For The Arts In Escondido

The fall show opens Sept. 29 and runs through Nov. 18 at the Center Museum.

ESCONDIDO, CA – The opening of the fall exhibition at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido is just weeks away. "DesEscondido / No Longer Hidden: Public Address Art Exhibition" opens Sept. 29 and runs through Nov. 18 at the Center Museum.

Members of a group of artists called Public Address have created an array of multimedia artwork that will explore how things can be both obscured and visible in Escondido. The city's name means "the hidden place."

Exhibiting artists of public address include: Wick Alexander, Doris Bittar, Robin Brailsford, Diane Gage, Gerda Govine Ituarte, Luis Ituarte, Judit Hersko, Nina Karavasiles, Debby Kline, Larry Kline, Philip Matzigkeit, Bhavna Mehta, Anne Mudge, Melissa Smedley, Lynn Susholtz, Andrea Villa and Ruth Wallen. Hersko has created a special project entitled Net(work), an integrated installation by student artists Hanaa Abusalih, Saul Cigarroa, Kimberly Lopez, Ingrid Trovão and Stephanie Williams.

Admission to the museum is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Admission is free for center members, military and children 12 and younger.

The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Monday through Wednesday.
