Maude Ivory is Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Pet This Week

She needs confidence.

Maude Ivory is a 1-year-old, 9-pound, female, Domestic Short Hair cat with a Brown Tabby coat.

She was at a crowded animal shelter in Orange County, then transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS).

“Hold on to your whiskers” when you meet Maude Ivory. She’s timid when she first meets people. Then personality comes out you she shows you that she’s really sweet.

Maude Ivory needs a quiet home where her new family will give her the time and space she needs to settle in and realize she’s home.

The $100 adoption fee for Maude Ivory includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.

Adopt a "recycled" dog, cat, or rabbit this Earth Day, April 22nd, and lessen your “carbon pawprint." Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas reminds you Earth Day includes adopting recycled pets rather than supporting puppy mills or backyard breeders that harm the environment.

Pick up after your pets. When you don't, it can end up in the ocean or our water.

For extra impact, use biodegradable poo bags.

Use environmentally friendly shampoo and toys and beds made from natural products.

Spaying or neutering eliminates unwanted kittens or puppies.

Ask your vet about safe options to control fleas and ticks.

You can also recycle used items or buy used items and support animals at the RCHS Thrift Shop at 120 Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff by the Sea.

Now through April 30th, six members of the San Diego Animal Welfare Coalition are joining paws to find foster homes dogs. Participants include City of Chula Vista Animal Services, Frosted Faces Foundation, PAWS of Coronado, Rancho Coastal Humane Society, San Diego County Department of Animal Services and San Diego Humane Society.
