Motorcyclist Killed In Crash In Escondido

The motorcyclist went off the roadway and struck a light pole, police said.

ESCONDIDO, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash over the weekend in Escondido, authorities said Monday.

The single-vehicle crash was reported around 10 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Escondido Boulevard, just north of Washington Avenue, according to the Escondido Police Department. The motorcyclist went off the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a light pole.

Officers found the man unresponsive and administered CPR, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.

It was not immediately known whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, police said.
