New Daphne's To Open In North County With Pita Discount

An opening-day special is planned at the Greek restaurant chain, originally launched in Carlsbad in the early 1990s.

ESCONDIDO, CA — A new location of the fast-casual Greek eatery Daphne's is opening Wednesday, March 11 at the Westfield North County Mall in Escondido, with a grand-opening special on its Classic Pita Sandwich.

The pita, normally priced at about $8.50, will be available all day for $5, according to management of the restaurant, which prides itself on its hand-carved gyro, falafel, Greek salads, Fire Feta Fries, grilled seafood and spanakopita.

Daphne's also caters to patrons on low-fat, low-carb, high- protein, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. See the restaurant's full menu here.

“It is always exciting for us to expand the Daphne’s brand in San Diego since it is where we first opened more than three decades ago,” said Richard Mora, the brand's director of operations.

Originally opened in 1991 in Carlsbad, the Daphne’s chain now operates 19 locations in California with the next planned opening in Fresno.

Daphne’s newest location at the Escondido mall, at 200 E. Via Rancho Parkway, is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
