Park Volunteering Options for San Diegans on 'Green Friday'

Here's a chance to get a workout, enjoy the outdoors and do good at the same time.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY -- Green Friday, an alternative to the shopping madness of Black Friday, is the day after Thanksgiving. And as part of the celebration, admission to all 116 of the California State Parks is free.

If you're looking to explore the great outdoors on Fri., Nov. 25, here’s a chance to get a workout, enjoy the outdoors and do good at the same time. County Parks and Recreation needs volunteer help with two projects.

First, San Dieguito County Park bridges need a fresh coat of sealant. Teenagers and older are welcome. They should wear painting clothes, sturdy shoes, hats and sunscreen and bring water and snacks.
