to noon on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Students and families in middle school, high school, and community college are encouraged
to attend and learn about how to prepare for the competitive landscape of higher educations.
 Come to learn how to navigate the process of preparing for college and hear from
UC San Diego’s Admissions team on what the University of California is looking for in the application
process.

Remarks will be provided from distinguished guests, Dr. Michael V. Drake, current
President of the University of California and the first Black person to hold this
coveted position; as well as Dr. Shirley Weber, California’s Secretary of State, who
will serve as our Keynote Speaker. Attendees of the event will enjoy engaging in interactive
workshops, hear from current students, and have the opportunity to win gifts and prizes,
including gift cards and technology gifts (i.e. Air pods/Beats, tablet, laptop). Following
the event, all attendees will receive a resource guide that will highlight Community
Based Organization programs and scholarships, tips on preparing for college, UC requirements,
financial aid, and a plethora of resources.

designed to guide scholars and families on the journey to higher education.
