Tips Sought In Tire And Wheel Thefts In Escondido, Across County

ESCONDIDO, CA — Authorities sought the public's help Monday in identifying the people connected to a series of tire and wheel thefts across San Diego County.

A total of 25 thefts have been reported since January in Carlsbad, Escondido, Oceanside, San Diego and San Marcos. The nighttime thefts involve tires and wheels being taken from vehicles parked in parking lots or on the street. The thieves mostly target Toyota 4Runners and TRD-model trucks, according to the San Diego Police Department.
