NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Glendora is currently accepting applications for eligible Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded projects or services for the next Fiscal Year, July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

PROPOSAL:  The primary objective of the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department’s (HUD) CDBG program is “the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for persons of low-and moderate income.” The City of Glendora anticipates receiving approximately $300,000 from HUD which will be allocated to various eligible projects and programs.

The City is requesting proposals from interested, tax-exempt California non-profit organizations and City Departments that provide eligible CDBG services and/or projects benefiting residents.  All eligible applications will be reviewed by the Community Development Department and forwarded by recommendation to the City Council.

The City Council will hold a public hearing at a later date in March 2022 to review the recommendations and in May 2022 to make the final award determinations.

Those interested must complete an application package which will be available starting Thursday, December 23, 2021. Application packages will be available on the City’s website www.cityofglendora.org or at the City of Glendora, Community Development Department, 116 East Foothill Boulevard, Glendora, California 91741.

Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the City of Glendora Community Development Department, 116 East Foothill Boulevard, Glendora. Applications may not be sent by facsimile and no extension of the deadline will be granted. Applications may be photocopied, but must be signed by the official authorized to act on behalf of the applicant.
