SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

(AS PRESCRIBED BY GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 36933 (c) (1))

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT at their meeting held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, the Glendora City Council introduced for first reading, proposed Ordinance No. 2064, which if approved, will amend several sections of Glendora Municipal Code Title 6, Health and Sanitation.  The ordinance enacts the following regulations and policies: 

The Ordinance includes requirements for generators to participate in organic waste collection programs or self-haul organic waste to specified facilities for processing; multi-family and business owners and property managers to support organic waste disposal reduction; commercial edible food generators to recover edible food through contracts or written agreements with food recovery organizations and services; and certain recordkeeping, contamination monitoring, procurement and public outreach/education requirements. Adopted regulations also specify new, comprehensive containment, collection, processing and reporting requirements for general solid wastes and non-organic recyclables.

The City Council will consider adoption of said ordinance at their meeting to be held (December 14, 2021, 2nd reading/adoption), at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber, 116 E. Foothill Boulevard, Glendora.
