Emanate Health Announces a $25 Million Fundraising Campaign

COVINA, Calif. — Emanate Health—the largest health care system in the region—today announced that it has launched the most ambitious fundraising effort in its 100-year history and, once completed, promises to change the face of health care in the region.

“Emanate Health is redefining what health care will look like in the San Gabriel Valley,” said President & CEO Roger Sharma. “It’s a bold statement and one that challenges me and every member of our staff to reimagine how we’re going to address the health care needs of a growing and diverse community that continues to evolve.”

Proceeds from the $25 million campaign, which was officially launched to the public at its annual Autumn Nocturne gala on Saturday night, will provide new facilities, technology, and doctors throughout its health care network that serves a million people in the region.

At the gala, Emanate Health announced that it had already raised more than $11.5

million toward its campaign goal including a recent $1 million grant by The Ahmanson Foundation and other gifts contributed by other private foundations, Emanate Health Board of Directors, Emanate Health Foundation Board of Trustee members, Emanate Health physicians and staff, and the community.

“Emanate Health will use campaign funds to enhance patient programs and boost patient outcomes, providing them with the world-class health care that they so richly deserve,” Sharma said. “We’re reimagining what quality care should look like at every stage of life.”

To highlight the fundraising effort, Emanate Health Foundation today launched a campaign website at www.emanatehealth.org/campaign. The website contains an overview of campaign priorities, introduces campaign volunteer leadership, shares stories of impact, and provides a rundown of new expansion projects that are either currently under construction or scheduled to break ground in the near future thanks in part to campaign support. Gifts to the campaign can also be made through the site.

“Emanate Health is experiencing a renaissance that promises to change the face of health care in the region for decades to come,” said Emanate Health Foundation Board Chair and Executive Campaign Chair Lisa Fuerst. “We’re very excited about the potential of this campaign because of new expansion projects throughout our health care system that will elevate the level of patient care in the future.”

The campaign launch announcement comes while the new Emanate Health Cancer Care Center and a new Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit are both under construction at Queen of the Valley Hospital (QVH) in West Covina. The Cancer Care Center will provide conveniently located care and shorter treatment wait times for patients. The emergency department/ICU, originally built in 1962 to serve 35,000 patients a year, will be able to treat three times as many people once it’s completed in 2024.

Inter-Community Hospital (ICH) in Covina is home to the Emanate Health Heart Center, which performs more than 2,000 procedures each year—the third most of any hospital in Los Angeles County. To help address a growing demand, The Heart Center will be adding a new Cardiac Catheterization Lab, renovating an existing cath lab, and replacing diagnostic equipment, all of which will allow doctors to treat more patients.

In addition, a new exterior façade, patient-visitor entryway, and lobby will be built at ICH, benefitting The Emanate Health Heart Center and other services offered there. The new expanded lobby will include remodeled information, admissions, and security counters, in addition to an upgraded gift shop and coffee kiosk.

At Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora, plans call for a new ground-up medical office building with hospital-based clinics on campus that will offer a one-top, multi-specialty care center for patients. A similar multi-specialty center at QVH offers primary and specialty care services including Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Neurology.

Emanate Health recently purchased a building on the corner of Route 66 and Amelia Avenue in Glendora to build its first Urgent Care Center. The care center, which will contain 45 exam rooms, will serve as a gateway for Emanate Health to provide convenient care for residential communities in east Glendora and neighboring San Dimas and La Verne.
