Emanate Health Foundation to Mark Doctor's Day, March 30

COVINA, Calif. — Have you thanked a doctor recently? With National Doctors’ Day just around the corner, here’s your chance!

Doctors have used their healing hands during the global COVID-19 pandemic to help save the lives of patients locally and around the world. These amazing people have dedicated their lives to helping others in need. Please join us in thanking the doctors who care for you and your loved ones in the San Gabriel Valley.

National Doctors’ Day is March 30. To support physicians throughout its three hospitals and network of care centers, the Emanate Health Foundation invites the community to thank a doctor with a heartfelt message on this special day.

Grateful patients can share their thoughts about a physician who played a significant part in their family’s lives. With any contribution, the Foundation will share your kind words with the doctor, and give them a limited edition National Doctors’ Day lapel pin and a special certificate of recognition.

“These donations come straight from the heart. They are a testament to the work of our doctors at Emanate Health and the impact they have across the San Gabriel Valley and beyond,” said Gurjeet Kalkat, MD, Emanate Health chief medical officer.

“We hope that it gives them a great sense of pride to know that they have made such a meaningful difference in a family’s life. By investing themselves so deeply in providing high quality, compassionate care, they do more than heal individuals and their families – they also strengthen our entire community,” he said.

In 1990, President George H. W. Bush recognized the numerous contributions of doctors by formally proclaiming March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.

• “When God made you he made a special angel for me. I admire you, respect you, and trust you. You are always there for me even if it's just a phone call away. Too often life just rolls along and we don't take the time to tell those who have touched our lives in some special way how much that has meant. You have such a good heart. You are always saying something thoughtful or doing something kind and I want to be sure how much you are appreciated and what a gift you truly are.”

• “We honor you because, for nearly 30 years, you have diagnosed and treated my pulmonary issues with a keen sense of the proper treatment and good-heartedness. This is accomplished by your medical currency and inherent sense of humanity. Thanks for being you!”
• “Thank you for treating my mom as your own. I will forever be grateful for accepting her as your new patient. Her recent hospitalization would have been very stressful if I didn’t have you as her primary medical doctor. Happy Doctors’ Day!”

Proceeds from the National Doctors’ Day appeal will benefit the Emanate Health COVID-19 Relief Fund, which has helped to support physicians, nurses and staff to treat patients during the pandemic. The fund has generated more than $400,000 in cash and in-kind donations. In-kind gifts have included 200,000 surgical masks, 30,000 N95 masks and 7,000 face shields.
