GLENDORA, CA — City officials are warning residents that phone scammers have been calling Glendora residents and threatening to shut off their water service.

The scammers claim the service will shut off because of overdue water payments. Several residents have been targeted in the scam already, officials said.

"The City of Glendora does not contact customers by phone to advise their water is being shut off," officials said on social media.

If a customer has an overdue bill, they will receive a letter in the mail and have a tag placed on their door notifying them of an impending shutoff, officials said.
