Local Trader Joe’s Stores Recall Popular Chicken Product

GLENDORA, CA — Trader Joe’s stores recalled a chicken patty product after bone fragments were discovered in the product, the Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Wednesday. The recall affected Trader Joe’s near Glendora and across the nation.

The subject of the recall is two chicken products, Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Chicken Burgers and Spinach Feta Chicken Sliders.

Reports of consumers finding bone fragments in the chile-lime burger product resulted in almost 100,000 pounds of potentially contaminated raw chicken being recalled by Washington-based manufacturer Innovative Solutions, which produced the product.

There were no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from eating the products, according to the service. It advised anyone concerned about an injury or illness to contact a health care provider.

Residents of Glendora who purchased either of the products were urged to throw the food away or return them to the Trader Joe’s of purchase, the service said.
