Ten Day Street Closure On Route 66 Begins This Weekend

The street closure will help facilitate the construction of light rail bridge foundations as part of the Foothill Gold Line project.

GLENDORA, CA — A part of Route 66 in Glendora will be closed for ten days starting Friday night for construction work on the Foothill Gold Line Project.

Route 66 will be closed between Hunters Trail and Compromise Line Road starting at 7 p.m., according to Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority spokesman Albert Ho.

The closure is for construction crews to be able to build light rail bridge foundations for the Metro line's extension from Glendora to Pomona.

The street will be completely closed to traffic for 24 hours a day throughout construction and will reopen on Nov. 29 at 5 a.m.

Detour signs will be placed near the street to help motorists navigate around the closure, according to Ho.
