GLENDORA, CA —A violent encounter at a Glendora motel on Monday left an Uber driver suffering multiple stab wounds and six detained, police say. The driver is at an area hospital undergoing treatment, according to authorities.

The stabbing which was reported just before 1 p.m. Monday led officers to the Glendora Motel at 330 W. Route 66, where the suspect in the stabbing was believed to be hiding, said Glendora Sgt. Mike Henderson.

Glendora officers and the Foothills Special Enforcement team set up a perimeter around the motel and began negotiations to get the person to surrender, he said.
