1-Minute Police Chase Leads To Violent Sunset Boulevard Crash

A suspect in a stolen Dodge Challenger refused to emerge from the wreckage of the crash and fought with paramedics Tuesday morning.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A stolen car chase in Hollywood ended in a violent crash that sent at least three people to the hospital Tuesday.

The police chase only lasted a minute before a gray Dodge Challenger that had been reported stolen plowed into another vehicle, causing a pileup at Sunset Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue, according to Officer Lizeth Lomeli of the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver and his female passenger were both injured along with at least one person in one of the other vehicles, according to police and the Los Angeles Fire Department.

After the crash, the driver of the Dodge refused to leave the vehicle and fought with paramedics and police as they treated him and his passenger, according to Fox11.

The chase began at about 2:24 a.m. at Gower Street and Afton Avenue and ended less than a mile away, according to the LAPD.
