Mobs Ransack And Rob 3 7-Eleven Stores Minutes Apart: Reports

Police said about 20 people stormed into the stores, assaulted an employee and took items before fleeing on bikes.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Los Angeles authorities are investigating the robberies of three Hollywood 7-Eleven stores less than 20 minutes apart Friday night by a mob on bikes, according to reports citing police. A similar robbery happened in Los Angeles the week before.

The first robbery was reported shortly after 8 p.m. at Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, where about 20 people, in their late teens or early 20s, smashed windows and took food as well as other merchandise, the Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service.

The second robbery happened around 8:15 at a store near Hollywood and Highland, NBC Los Angeles reported. The thieves assaulted an employee and took multiple items, police told the station.

Around 8:22 p.m., a similar group robbed a 7-Eleven in the 5700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard near Western Avenue, where they vandalized the store before riding away on bicycles.

Police did not confirm if the robberies were connected. No injuries were reported.

One week ago on Aug. 9, around 50 teens vandalized the 7- Eleven store in the 8500 block of Olympic Boulevard near La Cienega Boulevard and stole merchandise, including cigarettes, before riding away on bicycles.

Police had no new information on that crime.
