HOLLYWOOD, CA — Amoeba Hollywood was forced to close on Monday due a broken pipe that caused minor flooding on the bottom floor. The issue first arose Sunday evening, causing them to shut down early while crews worked to fix the opening.

"A pipe burst in the store today and flooded the lower level," Amoeba said in a statement. "We had to close early tonight and are unfortunately going to be closed on Monday, April 19.We hope to reopen on Tuesday at 11am like normal. We'll update everyone tomorrow afternoon if our Tuesday hours are affected."

Monday afternoon, Amoe =ba announced the leak had been repaired and that they would be open for normal business hours on Tuesday. The store said their prized records were not damaged in the leak.

Amoeba has had no shortage of customers since reopening in their new location at the start of the month. Now at 6200 Hollywood Boulevard, wait times to get into the store have stretched as long as an hour, or sometimes even longer on high-demand weekends.

"We are so ready to safely re-open our doors to our amazingly supportive and loyal customers who have kept in touch with us during this unfathomable time," Amoeba co-owner Jim Henderson told Variety ahead of the reopening. "Nobody could have anticipated the challenges this year brought for the world and we've been eager to get back to what we do best – hosting the world's biggest selection of music, movies and ephemera for the community of Los Angeles and beyond. We've missed seeing our staff and everyone who visits us in person more than we can express and look forward to starting our third decade in Hollywood in the new space and creating more memories together."
