HOLLYWOOD, CA — Brothers Meatballs will close operations for the next several days for a professional sterilization of the building, the restaurant announced Wednesday.

The restaurant, which opened earlier this year, decided to opt for the deep cleaning "out of an abundance of caution." According to the restaurant, there has been no exposure to the coronavirus, but they wanted to be increasingly cautious to protect guests and staff.

An exact reopening date wasn't announced.

The plant-based meatball restaurant aims to make Italian comfort food a little healthier, using impossible foods and a home-cooked blend of Italian spices rather than beef, turkey or other meats.

"A lot of times people will say that plant-based food is tasteless," chefs Mauro and Sergio Corbia told Patch. "We took that as a challenge. We wanted to create a menu of food that tastes absolutely delicious and just happens to be plant-based. We think that following a plant-based diet shouldn't mean you're deprived of great-tasting dining options."
