HOLLYWOOD, CA — A dumpster fire ignited several palm trees into a blaze Thursday night, prompting authorities to shut down the 101 Freeway's Highland Avenue offramp, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the fire at Hillpark Drive and Cahuenga Boulevard just before 8 p.m. Crews observed blue flames in the dumpster; the fire was later determined to be caused by electrical wire, according to the LAFD.
