East Hollywood House Fire Threatened Other Structures: LAFD

A fire that broke out at an East Hollywood home Thursday threatened nearby structures, firefighters said.

Firefighters responded to the home on Juanita Avenue, just east of Vermont and Melrose avenues, at around 4:30 a.m. to find heavy fire showing at the one-story, single-family home.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters extinguished a blaze at an East Hollywood home early Thursday morning that was threatening other nearby structures, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the home on Juanita Avenue, just east of Vermont and Melrose avenues, at around 4:30 a.m. to find heavy fire showing at the one-story, single-family home.

"Crews engaged in a defensive fire fight, setting up heavy streams from the exterior only, and knocked back the flames to keep them from spreading to adjacent structures," the LAFD wrote.

It took 46 firefighters about 40 minutes to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
