An injured hiker was airlifted off a remote trail near the Hollywood Sign Sunday morning, firefighters said.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — An injured hiker was rescued by helicopter from remote area near the Hollywood Sign Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a report of a woman suffering an isolated injury to her leg Sunday at around 8:30 a.m. Rescuers on the ground coordinated with those in a helicopter to hoist the woman by air and transport her to a local hospital, according to the LAFD.
