HOLLYWOOD, CA — Hollywood Boulevard was temporarily shut down for over three hours Friday morning after a man climbed a 150-foot crane in East Hollywood. The incident first began around 6:06 a.m. near 4850 W Hollywood Blvd near Barnsdall Art Park, and prompted a joint response from the Los Angles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man was experiencing an "apparent behavioral emergency," according to Brian Humphrey of LAFD. KTLA reported the man threw a utility box from the crane and at one point was dangling only by his arms.
