Man Found Wedged Beneath Hollywood Subway Platform

Investigators believe the man may have been struck by a train.

EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man may have been struck by a train on the Metro B Line at the Hollywood/Western Station in the East Hollywood area Wednesday.

Authorities are investigating the incident after a man "was found wedged beneath subway station platform at Hollywood/Western Metro Station, after possibly being struck by (unknown direction) B (Red) Line subway train, which remained at scene," the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a written statement.

Paramedics were sent to the 5400 block of West Hollywood Boulevard about 9:25 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

"The man was not physically trapped by the train," the LAFD said. "He has been safely extricated and is being medically evaluated by LAFD responders. His site affiliation and the circumstances of his being at track level have yet to be determined."

No one on the train was injured in the incident.
