HOLLYWOOD, CA —After a warm week, rain and cooler temperatures are headed to Hollywood.

Cooler temperatures will set in Sunday, and rain is expected to start late Sunday night. The National Weather Service expects between 1 to 3 inches of rain in the coastal areas, and up to 3 inches in the foothill areas.

Dense fog is expected Monday morning, and temperatures in Hollywood are expected to fall to a high of 66 degrees. Winds are expected to pick up, and motorists are advised to exercise caution.

Snow levels in the mountains will fall to about 6,000 feet by Monday, "with possible significant amounts above 7,000 feet," forecasters said.

The rain comes as welcome news following a bone dry first few months of the year, and the state imposed new water cuts. Unfortunately, no rain is predicted next week, though seasonally appropriate temperatures in the mid-60s are expected.
