Santa Ana Winds Return To Los Angeles Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, CA — Southern California is in for another round of Santa Ana winds Wednesday and Thursday with strong wind gusts capable of knocking down power lines, the National Weather Service warned.

The weather service issued a high-wind advisory slated to last from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 3 p.m. Thursday across the region including for the San Fernando Valley, the L.A. Coast and Downtown Los Angeles, including Malibu, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Long Beach. In those areas, heavy wind gusts could reach 55 mph, the weather service warned.

"Damaging winds could blow down large objects such as trees and power lines," the weather service said. "Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles."

According to the weather service, gusts could reach 65 mph in some areas including the Santa Monica Mountains, Ventura County Mountains, Los Angeles County Mountains and Santa Clarita Valley.

The Santa Ana winds aren't expected to last long, however. The winds are expected to die down Thursday afternoon before returning again over the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to remain mild across Los Angeles all week, hovering in the uppers 60s and the mid-70s inland.
