'Slave Leia' Star Wars Bikini Sold At Auction For $175K

A golden bikini worn by Carrie Fisher in "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" was among the most famous Hollywood items sold during the auction.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — One of film's most memorable costumes fetched an eye-popping price at a recent Hollywood auction that offered up pricy props from Star Wars and Star Trek to Harry Potter and Home Alone.

According to UPI, the golden "Slave Leia" bikini donned by the late Carrie Fisher in "Return of the Jedi" sold for an eye-popping $175,000 at the Hollywood/Entertainment Signature Auction hosted by Heritage Auctions.

According to the auction house, the iconic seven-piece outfit, designed by artist Nilo Rosis-Jamero and created by Industrial Light & Magic chief sculptor Richard Miller, was used in the production and came with a letter of authenticity.

Another piece of Star Wars history drew a $1.5 million bid at the same auction: a miniature "Y-Wing" starfighter used for visual effects during the 1977 film's final space battle. Other big-ticket items included one of the hammers used in "Thor: The Dark World," a model of the USS Excelsior used in the filming of "Star Trek: Voyager," and a wand used by Daniel Radcliffe during the filming of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
