Suspicious Package Triggers Bomb Squad Investigation In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, CA — The discovery of a suspicious package prompted closure of the Metro B Line Hollywood/Western station Wednesday, but authorities safely removed the item.

The item was discovered about 9 a.m. at the station near Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue, and a bomb squad was dispatched to the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The item had been removed by late Wednesday morning, police said.

The station was closed while the item was being investigated, but it was later reopened, according to Metro. Traffic was routed away from the area, and a section of Hollywood Boulevard was closed during the investigation.
