  1. The Huntington Beach Church's Drive-thru prayer program is back and active! If you drove down near 8121 Ellis Avenue Saturday morning, you probably saw the volunteers holding up signs advertising the service. “The group holds these drive-in prayers twice each month on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.” (HB News)
  2. The Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) announced Monday that, once launched, it “expects to be the greenest Community Choice Energy program in the State of California.” HB, along with Buena Park and Irvine, has signed on for the 100% renewable energy tier. Fullerton opted for the 70% tier. Commercial services will launch in April, while residential clients come onboard in the fall. (OC Breeze)
  3. What’s going on with masks in the classroom? At this time, school districts are waiting to hear when a mask mandate might turn into a mask recommendation. “On February 28, we will reassess the data,” said the Secretary of the state Health and Human Services department. It is important to note that, at this time, officials “aren’t tying their reevaluation of the mask mandate to how many kids get vaccinated.” (Voice of OC)
  4. The Attorney General told Juggernaut Tactical on Friday to stop “selling assault weapons to consumers and distributing them to firearms dealers in the state.” At issue is the “Featureless Series” of products. The AG asserts that “Juggernaut is currently selling on its website a series of rifles that the company designed with the intention of skirting California’s definition of an assault weapon.” (OAG)
  5. On Friday, there was a fatal shooting in a home “around the 1300 block of E. Wilshire Avenue” near Fullerton College. A 26-year-old male was fatally shot, whereas a 45-year-old female was wounded. The investigation is ongoing. (Hornet)
