The Catholic Church is hosting fish fry events as a fundraiser. Also, HS students are invited to participate in an art contest. Finally, the Bolsa Chica Interpretive Center will celebrate a reopening.

  1. Saints Simon & Jude Catholic Church at 20444 Magnolia Street is hosting Friday fish fry events. Come on Fridays 3-11, 3-18, 3-25, 4-1, and 4-8 to buy tasty meals prepared by the volunteers. All proceeds benefit “the ongoing Men’s Club activities and outreach programs.” (SSJ)
  2. If you are a HB HS student, the City’s Human Relations Committee is hosting a contest just for you! The Committee wants a new logo that encapsulates the statement: “Huntington Beach is a community where all people feel respected, valued, and free from discrimination and violence.” You have until March 24 to submit your entry!   3. The Bolsa Chica Interpretive Center is planning its grand re-opening. Scheduled for April 2, it will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Although parking on-site will not be available, we will be providing free off-site parking at various sites, including the State Beach.” (HB News)
  4. On Wednesday, the average price of gas was $5.57 per gallon. Governor Gavin Newsom said in his State of the State address that he “wants to help Californians offset the cost of skyrocketing fuel prices with a tax rebate.” However, he did not share any details. (Patch)
