  1. On Friday, the Ocean View School District addressed the Huntington Beach City Council to outline what its board’s vice president heard while at the scene of the Wintersburg fire. According to the Fire Chief, "neither he nor the HBFD recommended the demolition of the structures." Moreover, the District notes Republic Services’ lack of response regarding a potential buyer for the property or maintenance requests. It is “calling for accountability” of Republic Services. 2. The FBI alerted residents Friday that it is now looking for the "Black & White Sneaker Bandit." This individual is suspected of being involved in “at least 8 bank robberies in the cities of Fullerton, Huntington Beach & Costa Mesa.” If you know anything, call 3104776565. (@FBILosAngeles)
  3. Peterson Elementary was a popular place to be for Read Across America Day on Wednesday. “Huntington Beach Mayor Barbara Delgleize, City Councilwoman Natalie Moser, Fire Chief Scott Haberle and other leaders read to children at Peterson in three 15-minute increments.” A happy principal noted that “every year, this becomes a bigger and bigger event here at Peterson.” Nice!
