Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (District 74) released details of the second hearing conducted by the Assembly Select Committee on the Orange County Oil Spill about the “Decommissioning of Offshore Oil Infrastructure along the California Coast.” Stakeholders discussed the effects of job losses on industry workers, as well as the opportunity to turn “rigs-to-reefs.” “This oversight hearing marks the second following the Orange County Oil Spill to get to the bottom of what happened, ensure that the responsible party is held fully accountable, and identify the steps needed to ensure that an environmental disaster like this does not occur again.” (OC Breeze)
