  1. The lift station at Slater and Springdale is expected to be done by the end of February. It is what some have called a “swimming pool with pumps built 35 feet underground” to “bring sewage from lower to higher elevations.” Construction began in 2020 and was estimated to cost $3.9 million. It is finally coming to an end with a price tag closer to $4.9 million. (HB33.TV)
  2. District changes will be in play for the June 7 election. We learned Tuesday that HB, which has been in District Two with “Costa Mesa, Cypress, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Stanton, and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley” will now be in District One with “Cypress, Fountain Valley, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Westminster and parts of Garden Grove.” It is represented by Supervisor Andrew Do. (Surf City Break)
  3. Senator Dave Min spent time on Saturday helping clean up at the Bolsa Chica ecological reserve. He and his family joined more than 40 students who came out to leave HB better than they found it. (@SenDaveMin)
  4. Last Saturday and Sunday, HB once again hosted the Revolution. The Civil War reenactment was once again a great opportunity to see history in motion. Most importantly, it was free for attendees, which meant that there was no reason to sit out the Battle of Saratoga or the Battle of Camden. (HB History)
  5. The Pajama Game, a musical comedy, is coming to the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts in March. This spring mainstage production is a crowd pleaser that has a little something for everyone. Clear your schedule for March 18-20 and 25-27 and head on over to the HB Union HS District Auditorium.
