  1. Vans Skatepark reopened Tuesday. Situated at 7471 Center Avenue, it is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. By the way, Wednesday is BMX day! (surfcityusa, VANS)
  2. Sweet Elle’s at 5141 Warner Avenue celebrated its grand reopening and 14th anniversary last Saturday. Plenty of folks were on hand for the ribbon-cutting. They included Mayor Barbara Delgleize and the original Meadowlark Airport owners. (Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, Sweet Elle)
  3. Insiders consider Orange County’s housing inventory “catastrophically low.” We learned Monday that the OC had “roughly 1,100 active homes on the market. Median home prices are around $935,000. While the market is red-hot, an increase in interest rates “may help cool down home buying activity.” (Spectrum News 1)
  4. Will Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) drivers go on strike? Insiders said Tuesday that “labor negotiations have stalled between the region’s public transit agency and the union representing roughly 600 bus drivers.” Areas of disagreement include rest periods and breaks. (Voice of OC)
  5. You have an opportunity to volunteer Saturday at the Monarch Nature Trail. Going from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., you can help with restoring the habitat that is the “old Navy railroad right-of-way in North Huntington Beach.” If you miss Saturday, you’ll have another opportunity to help out on March 5 and April 2.
