  1. HB ranks ninth in WalletHub’s Top 10 list of “Happiest Cities in America,” we learned Tuesday. A total of 182 cities were considered. If you want to claw closer to the top, you have to pass Irvine (#5), San Jose (#4), San Francisco (#3) and Fremont (#1). (WalletHub)
  2. On Monday, the Little Tokyo Historical Society has formally put Mayor Barbara Delgleize and the City Council on notice that “the fire and unpermitted demolition on Friday, Feb. 25, of the 1910 Wintersburg Japanese Mission’s manse at the Historic Wintersburg property comes after years of anti-Japanese and anti-Asian hate, orchestrated harassment on social media, and threats to preservationists.” The organization is calling for an arson investigation and other steps.   3. We learned Tuesday that retired K-9 officer Marco has passed. He worked for eight years with the HBPD, beginning in November 2013. He just recently retired in December. (@HBPoliceDept)
  4. On Tuesday, the OCTA Board of Directors approved a new three-year contract with the Teamsters Local 952. “We are very happy that an agreement has been reached that rewards our outstanding coach operators for the essential work they do, while remaining responsible to Orange County taxpayers,” an OCTA spokesperson said.   5. HB-based apparel retailer TravisMathew LLC is expanding into Canada. The launch took place officially on Thursday. “This entry project will be the apparel company’s third international e-commerce market, following its business in Europe and Japan.” (OCBJ)
