Overturned Big Rig Spills Raisins Onto 2 Freeway Shutting It Down

The Glendale (2) Freeway was shut down for hours Wednesday after two big rigs collided, causing havoc on both sides of the freeway.

The crash was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m., and lane closures lasted pasted the 10 p.m. hour continued  Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CA — Two big rigs crashed and overturned on the Glendale (2) Freeway in La Canada Flintridge, spilling boxes of raisins onto the road and shutting down both sides of the freeway for hours Wednesday evening.

No injuries were reported in the crash, but traffic was backed up for miles just north of Fern Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m., and lane closures lasted pasted the 10 p.m. hour continued Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The southbound lanes were expected to reopen around 11 p.m. and the northbound side of the freeway was expected to open by 1 a.m. Thursday, according to the CHP.
