Gas Prices Fall Again In Laguna Beach: Find The Cheapest Gas In OC

LAGUNA BEACH, CA— It's filled 'er up Friday in Laguna Beach, with gas prices falling to $4.89 per gallon at the 7-Eleven on Pacific Coast Highway. Still, the lowest gas prices in the county are $4.17 at the Tustin Costco for regular, self-serve gasoline, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County dropped for the third consecutive day, following a six-day streak of increases totaling 2.6 cents. The average price decreased 1 cent to $4.688 and has fallen 1.9 cents over the past three days, including seven-tenths of a cent Thursday.

Orange County drivers are seeing a slight rise in the average prices, two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago; still, gas prices are 29.8 cents less than one month ago and 12.6 cents lower than one year ago. OC gas prices rose to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022, and have since fallen by $1.771 per gallon, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager, Doug Shupe.

"Local gas supplies appear to be tightening again after more than two months of price drops," Shupe said.

"The Auto Club is projecting that more than five million Southern Californians will start heading out of town beginning this Saturday for Independence Day holiday getaways so that fuel demand is likely helping to push up pump prices."

The national average price was unchanged, remaining at $3.503, after four consecutive increases totaling 5.6 cents, including nine-tenths of a cent Thursday. It is 4.7 cents more than one week ago but 8.3 cents less than one month ago and 5.3 cents lower than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.513 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
