The first day of school is approaching fast. Here's a list of key 2024-25 school-year dates for LBUSD schools.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Summer is almost over for Laguna Beach public school students. The first day of school in the Laguna Beach Unified School District is Thursday, Aug. 22.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for the 2024-25 year for schools including Laguna Beach High School, Thurston Middle School, El Morro Elementary School and Top of the World Elementary School.

- First day of school: Aug. 22
- Labor Day: Sept. 2
- Rosh Hashanah (unassigned day): Oct. 3
- Veterans Day: Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-29
- Winter Break: Dec. 23 -Jan. 3
- Semester begins: Jan. 6
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Jan. 20
- Mid-Winter Break: Feb. 17-21
- Presidents Day: Feb. 17
- Cesar Chavez Day (unassigned day): March 31
- Spring Break: April 7-11
- Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day (unassigned day): April 24
- Memorial Day: May 26
- Last day of school: June 12
