2 Arrested For Vandalism, Arson In Lake Elsinore

They caused an estimated $1,200 in damages, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Two Wildomar residents were arrested for their alleged involvement in vandalism and arson in Lake Elsinore, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

A Special Enforcement Team from the sheriff's Lake Elsinore station responded to a call in the 3300 block of Hillcrest Court at about 11 p.m. Thursday regarding vandalism. The agency said the victim caught a man and a woman on surveillance footage spray-painting a huge section of his property's brick wall, and that the man was mixing gasoline with the spray-paint in order to ignite a large explosion.

They caused an estimated $1,200 in damages, the sheriff's department said.

Authorities arrested Devin Rodriguez, 20, and Jazmine Carillo, 18, who were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.

Rodriguez had bail set at $10,000. Carillo's custody status was not immediately clear.
