SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Four Lake Elsinore Unified School District students were nominated by Congressman Ken Calvert (R-42) to attend the nation's military academies, it was announced Thursday.

“I am proud to nominate these outstanding young men and women from Riverside County to attend our U.S. Service Academies,” Calvert said. “Answering the call to serve our nation is a truly honorable act. These students are extraordinary representatives of our region and, if accepted, will no doubt excel at our Service Academies.”

As a member of Congress, each year Rep. Calvert has the privilege of nominating a select group of qualified young people from his congressional district for appointment to one or more U.S. Service Academies—Air Force, Naval, Military and Merchant Marine (no congressional nomination is needed for the United States Coast Guard Academy). Candidates must apply for nomination and admission simultaneously in the spring of their junior year of high school.
