'Above And Beyond': Shandi Priske Makes A Difference In Lake Elsinore

She was my son's 1st grade teacher.

What does this person teach?

1st grade

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

I think she should be recognized/ honored because she goes above and beyond for her students. My son was in foster care and had severe behavioral problems. Mrs. Priske was always there to help him with his feelings/ behaviors. She made sure my son was not left behind education wise and helped him learn the best he was able to. At the beginning of 1st grade it would be a miracle if my son stayed in the class room for more than a couple hours, he has severe trauma from his birth family and Mrs. Priske recognized this and made sure she was always there for him and making him feel safe. By the end of 1st grade my son was almost baseline with his education, he didn't run out of the class anymore and he was actually thriving in school. All because of Shandi Priske, we owe her so much for helping him. My son absolutely loves her and we have grown close over the time of knowing each other (she even came to my sons adoption at the court house).
