RIVERSIDE, CA — The legendary rock band Heart, fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, is canceling its planned Riverside County concert because of a cancer diagnosis.

Seventy-four-year-old Ann, who is the group's lead singer, made the announcement Tuesday.

"I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous," she said in a social media post. "The operation was successful, and I'm feeling great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I've decided to do it."

Heart was scheduled to perform at Riverside's Fox Performing Arts Center on Nov. 3.

Heart's U.S. Top 40 singles include "Magic Man" (1975), "Crazy on You" (1976), "Barracuda" (1977), "What About Love" (1985), "Never" (1985), and "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You" (1990), along with no. 1 hits "These Dreams" (1986) and "Alone" (1987).

Ann is known for her dramatic soprano vocal range and her operatic abilities.

Earlier this year, Ann announced that she and Nancy would not perform a European circuit due to health complications.

"To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs," Ann said Tuesday. "Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted, and we'll let you know the plan as soon as we can."

Ann has long-suffered health issues. She admitted that in the band's earlier days, she would starve herself to stay thin and later suffered panic attacks about her weight. In the band's 2012 autobiography, Ann revealed her past struggles with cocaine and alcoholism.

In 2013, Ann was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Heart.
