JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A brush fire that broke out Monday on a hillside just north of Jurupa Valley charred roughly 30 acres before it was stopped.

The non-injury "Sierra Fire" was reported at 3:20 p.m. along Sierra Avenue, near Armstrong Road, in an area known as Jurupa Hills, bordering the San Bernardino County line, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that multiple engine and hand crews from both Riverside and San Bernardino counties were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate in the hills northeast of the Oak Quarry Golf Club.
