Coroner IDs Woman Found Dead In Wildomar Hit-And-Run

Sheriff's officials are "conducting a full investigation into the collision."

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A pedestrian who was killed in a recent hit-and-run crash in Southwest Riverside County has been publicly identified by coroner's officials. The victim was 42-year-old Charline Wells of Lake Elsinore.

Riverside County Sheriff's deputies were called shortly after midnight Friday to the Wildomar scene where Wells was apparently struck and killed by a vehicle near the intersection of Mission Trail and Sylvester Road, according to the agency.

"A resident walking in the area located the victim lying against a fence near the intersection," the sheriff's department said. "Medical personnel were the first to arrive on scene and pronounced the victim deceased."

It's still unclear when Wells may have been hit or how long she was there.
