RIVERSIDE, CA — To celebrate Women’s History Month in March, Farmer Boys restaurants is changing its name to Farmer Girls, with a re-do of signs, logo and including the re-branding of its "Bacon Boy" burger to "Bacon Girl" for the entire month.

“While our concept was started by five brothers, our team is supported by all genders and we wanted to use Women’s History Month to recognize that and express our gratitude,” said the Riverside-based chain's president and COO, Karen Eadon.

To mark International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, participating Farmer Girls locations (list here) will offer $1 off the burger from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. p.m., as well as donate $1 from every Bacon Girl sold to Catalyst, a global nonprofit devoted to building workplaces "that work for women," according to management.

“Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day are all about celebrating the contributions of women to society, and because we have more than 1,600 female staff members who help run our business and make our guests happy each day, we wanted to honor them with the Farmer Girls brand," said Eadon, who has served since 2015 at the helm of the operation, which employs more than 30 women on the corporate team, along with hundreds in management and more than 27 percent of its franchises female-owned.

The Farmer Girls name change will be visible at 75 restaurants (see the full list here), with the new logo displayed on door decals and menus.
