Lake Elsinore Grieves Loss Of Lifelong Resident Phil Williams

Condolences were pouring in Monday following news of the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District director's passing.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — News of the sudden death of a lifelong Lake Elsinore resident and longtime public servant led to an outpouring of tributes Monday.

"It is with a heavy heart that I pass along that the Lake Elsinore Valley lost one of its son’s of a pioneering family," Riverside County Supervisor Kevin Jeffries announced Monday morning. "He was a lifetime local resident, graduate of EUHS 1978, husband, father, brother, long-time local Realtor, contractor, elected water board member, and so much more to many. The family of Phil Williams is in our prayers. RIP Phil."

Williams was elected to the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Board of Directors in 2001 and has served ever since following multiple successful reelection campaigns. For more than three decades he was a real estate broker in the Lake Elsinore area, most recently with Keller Williams The Lakes, and he held a general contractors license, according to his bio.

"Phil always greeted me with a smile and a hug. I have known the family for years and they have always greeted myself & others with kindness. My sincerest condolences," a social media user wrote.

Another shared, "Phil Williams Was truly a one of a kind man. He was like a father figure to me. Our daily talks will be deeply missed. Your help and guidance over the last few years will never be forgotten. ... I have learned so much from you and don’t know where I would have been without you and your guidance. Our walking encyclopedia, Personal tour guide and loving leader…I love you and you will be deeply missed. My heart and prayers go to your family, your friends, and the hundreds of people [whose] lives you’ve truly touched."

Williams is survived by his wife, Tammy, whom he married in 1982, and their children and grandchildren.
