Tirso Ornelas game winning rbi paces Lake Elsinore Storm in Game 2 of CA League Playoffs

Willauer-Contributing Writer-The Diamond/Pete Lehr Field-Lake Elsinore, CA-9-5-19: For the first time since 2014 the Lake Elsinore Storm have made the 2019 California League Playoffs after a 2-0 win in Game 1 over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the second game was a no holds barred contest at its best as the Storm came back in dramatic fashion after trailing 6-2, scored 1 run in the 3rd, 3 runs in the 7th, 2 in the 9th to tie the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the 10th inning when Tirso Ornelas, went 2 for 4 with a single and triple hit a sacrifice fly to centerfielder Jerron Kendall of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes scored Jalen Washington with the winning run and won 7-6 in 10 innings.

Tirso Ornelas on the game winning rbi: "On my last at bat we were thinking we wanted to come back to win the game, we have done it before so it's possible to think that we were able to do that."

" I went 2 for 5 with a single and a triple,but,I found my groove I worked on hitting mostly fastballs." "On the game winning hit for the sacrifice fly, I hit the ball in the deepest part of the ball I thought it was a home run but I'll take an rbi anyday." said Tirso Ornelas.

Fred Sclichtholz is the winner in relief for the Storm as he pitched 1.2 innings with 1 strikeout. The Storm take this series 2 games to 0.

This is Lake Elsinore's fourth trip to the California League Playoffs where they won titles in 1996, 2001 (split titles due to the 9-11 incident), and 2011 lost in 2014
