LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Lake Elsinore-based Mason Motorsports is planning a move within the city that, if approved, will see the company open a large manufacturing facility at the northwest corner of Collier Avenue and Chaney Street.

Specializing in the fabrication of custom-built racing vehicles, Mason Motorsports received unanimous approval Tuesday night from the Lake Elsinore Planning Commission on a proposal to construct a two-story, 25,449-square-foot manufacturing facility on the 1.56-acre site. Retail sales would be allowed, according to city staff.

The proposal includes a zoning change and still requires City Council approval. In addition to the building, the project calls for 51 parking spaces, sidewalk improvements and landscaping.
