WILDOMAR, CA — The Wildomar Planning Commission will review two proposals next week that deal with commercial development along Clinton Keith Road near Interstate 15.

The first is a new retail center proposed for a 2.78-acre property on the northeast corner of Interstate 15 and Clinton Keith Road in Wildomar. The "Catt Crossings Retail Center" is projected to be an 11,817-square-foot strip mall featuring a Quick-Quack Express carwash, a fast-food/drive-thru restaurant and a retail store. Vehicles would enter the center from Catt Road, with no Clinton Keith Road access, according to city documents.

"Given the proximity to the northbound I-15 freeway onramp, it was not feasible to provide direct access to Clinton Keith Road," a staff report reads.

Commissioners will decide whether to approve a conditional use permit/plot plan for the Catt Crossings Retail Center and whether the project is exempt from in-depth environmental review.

The architectural theme for the retail center is proposed as “farm chic," according to city documents, with barns, sheds, silos, tank houses and granary towers as suggested design elements.

"This style reflects Wildomar’s agricultural and ranching history and regional context," the documents read.

The project applicant for the center is Catalyst Retail, Inc.

During Wednesday's meeting, commissioners will also hear about a plan to subdivide a vacant 26.8-acre site at the southwest corner of Elizabeth Lane and Clinton Keith Road in Wildomar. The applicant, Summit Development Corporation, is interested in carving up the lot into seven parcels for future business park/industrial uses, according to city documents.
